How to Hang Your Billiard Light
Pool table lights are a must-have whether you are a novice or a veteran. Pool table lights are designed to provide you with a well-lit table. Properly hung pool table lights are just as essential as a level table and a good cue.
The right height for pool table lights
Despite the fact that pool table lights are designed to provide optimal light for play, determining the proper height to hang them is imperative. If hung too low, they can be accidentally struck and if hung too high the lights will shine directly in a player’s eyes.
Generally speaking, hanging billiard lights about 32″-36″ above the bed of the table is about right, but here are some additional guidelines to determining the proper height to hang them.
The bottom fixture of the pool table lights should be level with the bridge of the player’s nose.
Remember, the function of billiard lights is to illuminate the table, not the entire room. The edge of the field of light produced by the lights should line up with the edge of the table.
Always centre billiard lights.
Method of Hanging
We recommend hanging chain hung fixtures with the chains at more than a 45 degree angle (to the bar). Chains hung at less than a 45 degree angle can cause undue stress on loops and possible failure of such loops resulting in damage to the table. If your ceiling is too low for the chains to be at a 45 degree angle (to the bar), we recommend using sway hooks on the ceiling and swaging the chain/cord over to the power outlet.
