He loves it, was able to learn what pieces do what, especially with the icons on the bases showing directions and number of spaces. The board itself is thick cardboard foldout but it’s double sided with a more beginner friendly side with icons on it. The pieces feel solid and the pawns are pretty cute. Very happy.
